Worked example
Subtitle to text, in practice.
Two cues saying Hello there. and Welcome back. become Hello there. Welcome back. A long pause can start a new paragraph.
Before you download
Text extraction does not transcribe audio. It uses the words already in your subtitle file; repeated cues are kept unless you choose otherwise.
These tools work with existing SRT and WebVTT files. If you need captions from audio, open the video caption editor instead. Files are limited to 5 MiB and 20,000 cues per input. Results stay in this tab until you copy or download them.
Questions
A few useful answers.
Can I keep timestamps in the transcript?
Yes. Enable timestamps to include each cue start or the first start in each paragraph.
Are my files private, and what are the limits?
Processing stays in this browser without an account. Each subtitle input is limited to 5 MiB of UTF-8 text and 20,000 cues. Session recording is disabled here. Closing or reloading the page clears your work.
